6th Grade

Introduction to the Visual Arts
Introduction to the Visual Arts is a beginning art class offered to all sixth grade students at the middle school level. The elements and principles of design may be introduced through, but not limited to the mediums of drawing, painting and sculpture. The cultural and appreciative aspects of art are incorporated into the course through various instructional resources and art production experiences.  

7th Grade

Encounter with the Visual Arts
This class provides students with opportunities to explore and experiment with more advanced techniques in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Use of these techniques will emphasize creative solutions to design problems in both two- and three-dimensional works of art. Cultural and appreciative aspects of art will be incorporated into the course through art criticism, art history, and aesthetics. 

8th Grade

Expanding the Visual Arts
This course is designed to provide the student with continuing techniques & processes in art production. Students will create two- and three-dimensional artwork from the areas of painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, or other vehicles of expression. The cultural and appreciative aspects of art will be incorporated through art criticism, art history, and aesthetics.
